Roscoe D. Cooper III

Roscoe D. Cooper III was elected to represent the Fairfield District in November 2015.

Mr. Cooper is the pastor of Rising Mount Zion Baptist Church. He graduated from Henrico High School and Virginia Union University. He earned a Master of Divinity degree from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University. In 2013, he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Richmond Virginia Seminary.

Mr. Cooper is a past president of the Baptist Ministers’ Conference of Richmond and serves as chair of the board of directors of Capital Area Health Network. He is also a member of the Religious Advisory Committee of U.S. Sen. Mark Warner. He and his wife Christy have four children: Kierstin, Roscoe IV, Christian and Landon.
