Develop and implement a plan for family involvement to include building successful school and family partnerships. The plan will be developed with staff and community involvement and will account for the unique needs of HCPS families (e.g. economic, language, social, learning and physical needs).
Objective:
Students will be supported through family-school partnerships.
Evidence:
Staff English as a Second Language Welcome Center inside J.R. Tucker High School to offer families assistance with registration, information on school and community resources, provide assessment of English language proficiency and fulfill requests for interpreters at school meetings.
Created the “Bridge Builders Academy” to connect students and families with information and resources. Virtual and in-person sessions are categorized into four “learning strands”: Beyond the Classroom, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Exceptional Education and Information, Access and Opportunities.
Maintain an open line of communication with families through The Binder to build awareness and promote engagement.
