YAY WILEY HUNNICUTT! Wiley Hunnicutt, an English teacher at Douglas Freeman High School, is today’s “Yay of the Day” honoree. Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored her recently at the school.

YAYWORTHY: Nominator Melanie Davis said: “Ms. Hunnicutt deserves a ‘Yay of the Day’ because she is an awesome teacher. She is invested in helping you and is realistic with the work she assigns. She also wants to get to know you as a person and understands that you can’t be perfect every time or always get something right on the first try. She is also funny, which helps some students learn better. Overall, she is just an excellent teacher, and I wish I had her as my English teacher every year. A specific example of a time this person made a positive impact is when we were sharing our poems and she told a student that he could be a professional poet and make a career out of it because his poetry was fantastic and intriguing.”

Thank you for all you do, Wiley Hunnicutt, to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
