YAY JAMES JOHNSON! James Johnson, a school security officer at John Rolfe Middle School, is today’s “Yay of the Day” honoree. Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored him recently at the school.

YAYWORTHY: Nominator Allison Boyd said: “Mr. Johnson is new to the role of school security officer at John Rolfe. He takes seriously the job of keeping our staff and students safe. You know he is going to be checking your door at least twice a day to make sure it is locked and secure. He stops traffic so that staff and students can safely enter the building. Mr. Johnson greets the families that come through the dropoff line each morning. He is friendly, but also holds everyone to the safety protocols. I see him make sure that we don’t have students skipping class, and they know he will walk them to class if they are loitering. Now that Mr. Johnson is on the scene, I’ve never felt safer at Rolfe! He is constantly on the move and making sure everyone is safe and secure every day.”

Thank you for all you do, James Johnson, to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
