Nominator Ellen Roller said:
"She goes above and beyond to make sure her students feel valued, included and empowered. She has made a profound difference in my daughter’s life, not just as a teacher, but as a mentor, advocate and unwavering source of support.
"The transition to middle school has been incredibly challenging for my daughter, but Ms. Hennessy has been there every step of the way. She sees my daughter for who she truly is — an amazing, capable and bright young person — not for the disability she has. Her kindness, patience and dedication have helped my daughter navigate academic and emotional hurdles with confidence.
"Ms. Hennessy’s belief in my daughter has given her the courage to believe in herself. Whether it’s offering extra academic support, encouraging her strengths or simply being a compassionate presence on tough days, Ms. Hennessy makes an impact that will last a lifetime. Our family is forever grateful for the difference she makes every single day. She is truly an extraordinary teacher and no one is more deserving of this recognition than Ms. Hennessy."
Thank you for all you do, Carolyn Hennessy, to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
