YAY DEVIN GENTRY! Devin Gentry, a history teacher at Highland Springs High School, is today's "Yay of the Day" honoree! Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored him recently at Highland Springs.

"He is committed to creating a positive and welcoming space for his students while they are in his class. He checks up on his students' mental health and makes sure that his students are taking something valuable from his classes every day, no matter what.
"He motivated me during a rough time in my life. With me not having a father, Mr. Gentry is someone that I can look up to as a positive male influence in my life, which is something that everyone needs. Even among peers that I shared his class with, everyone was on the same page that Mr. Gentry is an awesome teacher who genuinely cares about his students' safety, education and mental well-being. This is why I want to recognize my favorite teacher for the impact he has had on my life and many other students."
