Nominator Stacey Weir said:
"She takes time to talk and truly listen to students questions and interests to help them find books they are excited to read.
"Mrs. Rivera has embraced my extra curious and passionate child as she has taken the time to talk to her about her big questions and interests and helped her pick out books she thinks she will enjoy when she comes to the library. My kid had a particularly tough day and Mrs. Rivera wrote her a kind note and picked out books right on her reading level on topics she thought she would enjoy. My child is starting to embrace independent reading for the first time and it is largely due to caring teachers like Mrs. Rivera encouraging her curiosity and love of learning."
Thank you for all you do, Toni Rivera, to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
