Henrico Virtual Academy applications open for Henrico K-12 students through Jan. 31

Henrico Virtual Academy, which serves as Henrico County Public Schools’ only virtual K-12 school, is currently accepting applications for the 2025-26 school year through Jan. 31.

Henrico Virtual Academy offers a virtual education with no limits. The flexibility, individualized environment and focus provided by HVA allows students to reach new heights in their education, to go along with the strong, varied academic curriculum available to students of all grade levels.

Henrico Virtual Academy’s students also have access to sports and other VHSL-approved offerings from their home schools, as well as unique opportunities and in-person experiences in the community with their peers and HVA staff members.

The first two high school graduating classes of the Henrico Virtual Academy held in-person ceremonies the past two springs at J.R. Tucker High School, with families, friends and staff members joining in the achievements of HVA’s graduates — many of whom set off from graduation enrolled, enlisted and/or employed. The Class of 2025 is tentatively set to celebrate its commencement at Tucker on May 19.

Applicants can include students already enrolled in Henrico County Public Schools or students who live in Henrico but attend school elsewhere. There are no further prerequisites or requirements to apply. For HCPS’ proof of residency policy, go to https://www.henricoschools.us/page/hcps-proof-of-residency.

Applications in English and Spanish can be found at https://hcps.info/ApplyToHVA. Applications are reviewed by HVA staff based upon attendance, grades, progress toward graduation and the availability of needed courses by each student.
