YAY EMILY CARROLL! Emily Carroll, a counselor at Gayton ES, is today's "Yay of the Day" honoree! Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored her recently.

"She makes new students feel welcome, safe and comfortable as they adjust to their first year of school.
"During the second week of school, my daughter refused to get on the bus, and I needed to drive her to school. Ms. Carroll was monitoring at drop off and immediately recognized the situation as I carried my daughter to the building. She took my daughter out of my arms, calmed her down and helped her to class. She had a great rest of the day and hasn’t had an issue getting on the bus since. Thank you, Ms. Carroll, for helping our family through a tough morning!"
