For middle and high school students, thinking about careers can be daunting. Henrico’s Life-Ready Expo is a great place to start. Henrico County Public Schools students in grades 6-12 and their families can explore a wide variety of career options and learn about the skills and education employers want. The Sept. 24 event will be held at Hermitage High School.

Students and their families can:

  • Explore career opportunities in each of Virginia’s 17 career clusters, including many from the industrial and engineering technology, trades and health services sectors.

  • Talk with more than 100 employers and industry leaders.

  • Learn about career paths, educational requirements, compensation and future growth in hundreds of career fields.

Since 2019, Henrico’s Life-Ready Expo has been recognized by the National Association of Counties for its innovative career exploration opportunities and continues to be replicated across the country. The annual event attracts enthusiastic crowds of students, families, and business and community partners from across the region. The Life-Ready Expo is sponsored by the HCPS Department of Workforce and Career Development.

Helping students become “life-ready” is one goal of the Henrico Learner Profile, HCPS’ blueprint for K-12 education.
