YAY SHANIKA MILLS! Shanika Mills, an office administrator at Laburnum Elementary School, is today's "Yay of the Day" honoree! Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored her at Laburnum!

Nominator Paige Sloan said,
"She is the backbone of our school. She does it all! She helps teachers, she helps students, she helps administrators, she helps parents and she helps visitors. If you have a question, Ms. Mills has the answer. She is an office manager, registrar, counselor, administrator and more.
"Each month we have a celebration called 'Legendary Luncheon' where a family member of the chosen students can come, bring treats and have lunch with their student on the stage. A second grade student was chosen and no one from her family was going to be able to make it. She asked Ms. Mills to be her adult, and Ms. Mills brought cookies and other treats and truly brightened that student's day. The student beamed with pride that Ms. Mills came to join her."
