YAY HANY MAKAR! Hany Makar, a school safety officer at Maybeury Elementary, is today's "Yay of the Day" honoree! Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored him at Maybeury!

YAYWORTHY:

Nominator Candy Fitzpatrick (along with the fifth grade team at Maybeury) said,

“He can always be seen around campus with a friendly smile and a positive attitude! His willingness to always help everyone and to engage with students makes him an obvious candidate for this award. While his job is to keep our campus secure, he goes above and beyond each and every day!

"Mr. Hany serves as a positive male influence to many students at our school on a daily basis. Often when he is patrolling the campus in the afternoons, during fifth grade recess, he can be seen kicking a soccer ball, throwing a football or sitting in the grass chatting with a group of students about their day. Just today, he was taking a lap with one of our students who recently lost a family member and was going the extra mile to make a connection and giving that student some extra care. He is known and loved by all the students on campus!"

Thank you for all you do, Hany Makar, to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
