YAY KAYLA JOHNSON! Kayla Johnson, a second grade teacher at Maybeury Elementary School, is today's "Yay of the Day" honoree! Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored her recently at Maybeury.
YAYWORTHY:
Nominator Becca Brown said,
“She is an exceptional educator with a big heart and endless energy.
“After many times volunteering in the classroom and seeing Mrs. Johnson turn her class into a family, I drove by the school later than usual because of an afternoon enrichment to see her sitting on the bench with a student. I asked her the next time I saw her what she was doing, and she said she stayed after a couple days a week to help the student with his English. She does so much without expectations of applause or reward. She also will bake treats and bring them in regularly for the school. She has attended countless afterschool activities for ALL students, not just the popular outgoing ones."
Thank you for all you do, Kayla Johnson, to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
