YAY TAMMY HIGGINS! Tammy Higgins, a bus assistant, is today's "Yay of the Day" honoree! Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored her recently.
YAYWORTHY:
Nominator Lisa Higgins said,
“For over 35 years, Tammy has been a bus assistant with Henrico County. She loves every student she comes in contact with and goes above and beyond to make sure every student feels safe in her care. She has dedicated her entire career to loving each student individually and developing long lasting relationships with their families.
“As a bus assistant working with our special education students, she understands their specific needs and partners with the families to help give each student the proper care and love they need. She is only with her students a short time each day, but she makes a BIG impact in their lives. I've witnessed numerous families over the years spot her out in public and the students are SO EXCITED when they see 'Ms. Tammy.' She deserves to feel as special as she strives to make everyone else feel."
Nominator Skylar Stark said,
“They are very compassionate about their job they are always going above and beyond for each and every student. She is always in contact with parents with anything they need, whether on the clock or not."
Thank you for all you do, Tammy Higgins, to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
