HENRICO, Va., March 18, 2024 — Henrico County Public Schools Summer Academy is a unique program that gives elementary, middle and high school students important opportunities for enrichment, credit-recovery, remediation and career exploration.

The 2024 edition will be held at 26 HCPS sites: 11 elementary schools, six middle schools, six high schools and two Advanced Career Education centers, along with online summer instruction for Henrico Virtual Academy students.

 

Summer Academy programs include:

  • Elementary remediation and enrichment classes.

  • Study skills and math support classes for rising sixth grade students.

  • Middle school remediation classes.

  • High school credit recovery classes.

  • Online acceleration courses for middle and high school students.

  • Extended school year programming for some students with disabilities.

  • Classes for rising English-learner students in grades 1-12.

  • Driver education classes.

  • Career camps for rising sixth through 12th grade students.

  • Building trades program for rising 10th and 11th grade students.

 

Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. HCPS transportation is provided for most Summer Academy programs. Some programs have associated tuition costs.

 

The Henrico Education Foundation will offer afternoon enrichment opportunities at some Summer Academy sites, designed to support students who need after-school care. Find out more about registration and locations at https://henricogives.reg.eleyo.com.
