Regina McEwen of J.R. Tucker High School

YAY REGINA MCEWEN! Regina McEwen, family and consumer science teacher at J.R. Tucker High School, is today's "Yay of the Day" honoree. Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored her recently at the school.

YAYWORTHY:

Nominator Victoria Rogers said,

“She deserves a 'Yay of the Day' because she makes you always feel included. I come to her classroom every morning before the bell and we have the best conversations! We talk about our lives, friends, classes, things we're interested in and so much more. She is one of the leaders of the school's FCCLA club. I am the president of the club and no matter what ranking you are, she treats everybody the same. She makes you feel loved and appreciated. She goes out of her way to communicate with her students and club members on how to make class and meetings more enjoyable. She buy snacks for FCCLA meetings and plans ahead with me and a few other club members. She is truly one of my favorite people. I have never had her as a teacher, but spend more time with her than I do any of my others. She is kind-hearted, sweet, understanding and overall an amazing human being."

"She makes a positive impact every morning. She is a great person to talk to. You can tell her anything and she will give you an honest and helpful comment or help you through your worries or problems. She has made such a positive impact on me personally because I knew no one coming into high school. Having an amazing friend and teacher to talk to, get to know, and share thoughts and opinions with is the most amazing thing in the world. I am truly grateful for her!"

Thank you for all you do, Regina McEwen, to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward! • No. 38 in a series. See previous "Yay of the Day" honorees at
