YAY JAKE EARLE! Jake Earle, a math teacher at Mills Godwin High School, is today's "Yay of the Day" honoree. Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored him recently at Godwin.
YAYWORTHY:
Nominator Kent Givens said,
"He always goes the extra mile. He cares deeply about his Algebra 1 EL learners. He works overtime to challenge his Center AP Stats students. He shows up early and stays late. He connects with his colleagues in meaningful ways. He leads our impact team — not to check a box but because he's passionate about instruction. He's never sarcastic; he's never negative; he never complains.
"He proposed and pursued the idea of teaching a section of Algebra 1 with only EL learners, then spent his summer researching best practices for this course and partnering with our math specialist to get extra manipulatives and resources to make math attainable for these students who have yet to master the English language."
Thank you for all you do, Jake Earle, to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
