YAY MARIA MORTAZAVI! Maria Mortazavi, an LIEP instructional assistant at Brookland Middle, is today's "Yay of the Day" honoree. Superintendent Amy Cashwell recently honored her at Brookland.

Nominator Michelle Abrams-Terry said,
“Mrs. Mortazavi is an unsung hero and goes above and beyond to meet the diverse needs of our students, such as providing extra academic and organizational help, purchasing school supplies and clothing and untiringly providing food, school and family support whenever there’s a need.
“An example of the way she moves HCPS forward? The time she magically appeared with brand new clothes for several students who had outgrown their existing clothes. Mrs. Mortazavi did not want them to be teased by their middle school peers or worry about fitting in.”
