YAY KAREN SHAIA! Karen Shaia, a school counselor at David Kaechele Elementary School, is today's "Yay of the Day" honoree. Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored her recently at the school.

“Karen is a ray of light and support for all at Kaechele. She has a wealth of experience that she radiates through student engagement and support, staff involvement, parent and community relationships, and so much more. Karen is reliable and always willing to do whatever it takes for the good of any cause. Her dedication to the division needs to be celebrated.
“Karen has built a foundation of positive relationships as a member of the school community. She provides insight and innovation in difficult situations. Karen has displayed a continuation of her positive impact year after year throughout any school she has served. Her commitment has sustained as she recognizes successes in children, plans various events, her Watch DOGS efforts, lesson development, flexibility to county initiatives and beyond. Karen gives us all a ‘Yay’ every day.”
