HENRICO, Va., Oct. 3, 2023 — Marching bands are the soundtrack of fall. Come enjoy the crisp autumn weather and experience nine colorful high school marching bands at Henrico County Public Schools’ 2023 Band Showcase. This year’s event will take place Oct. 16 at Douglas Freeman High School and feature performances by bands from each of the school division’s comprehensive high schools.
The event is free, but donations are being accepted at the gate for the Henrico Christmas Mother campaign. Meet Helen Wood, this year’s Henrico Christmas Mother, and celebrate the 81st anniversary of this community program by bringing donations of canned goods; peanut butter; cereal; crackers; hats, gloves and socks; and monetary support.
Refreshments will be available for purchase at the event.
