YAY KRISTINE CLOPTON! Kristine Clopton, a teacher at Glen Allen High School who specializes in deaf and hard of hearing instruction, is today’s “Yay of the Day” honoree. Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored her recently at the school.

YAYWORTHY: Her nominator said: “She deserves this honor because she has gone above and beyond to make sure my boys had a great start to their freshman year at Glen Allen High School. She is not only a wonderful personal development and reading teacher, but also an outstanding advocate for all of her students. Ms. Clopton is in regular communication with their teachers to help implement their individualized education programs, and she works tirelessly to find creative ways they can access the curriculum in a way that works best for them. She is not their case manager but has been at every meeting we have had since August, and has played an integral role in the development and implementation of their plans. She is their “mom” at school. We feel so fortunate that Ms. Clopton is their teacher and look forward to many wonderful years at GAHS.”

Thank you for all you do, Kristine Clopton, to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
