The Division of Operations supports HCPS' infrastructure and critical functions that contribute to the safety, efficiency and functionality of the school division. 

Responsible for maintaining multilayered safety plans for the division and at each school, department personnel undergo rigorous training to prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from all emergency situations within or near school premises. Staff members are liaisons to the Henrico Police Division and have oversight of school-based security officers at every school. 

Managing a fleet of 658 vehicles to transport nearly 30,000 students each day, the department oversees annual licensing, preventative maintenance, service operations and training for the division's bus drivers. 

The Facilities Department maintains safe, healthy and comfortable learning environments at Henrico County Public Schools' many facilities. This commitment includes the timely repair, maintenance and cleanliness of school buildings. Moreover, the department is involved in capital planning as well as the design, construction management and accountability of school construction, renovation and replacement projects.

The Technology Department is responsible for the seamless integration of technology across the school division. This includes supporting all student and staff devices in a one-to-one learning environment, managing technical systems, networks and security, as well as technical support of HCPS' student information system and digital learning platforms.
