Non-Henrico Student Assessment
Non-Henrico student applications are open to eighth grade students whose primary residence is in Henrico County, but do not currently attend Henrico County Public Schools.
Registration for 2024 testing will open Sept. 30 at 9 a.m. and close Nov. 14 at 4 p.m.
To apply for admission to an HCPS specialty center, you must register to take the specialty center assessment test. The 2025-26 test includes three sections: reading, mathematics and writing. Students will have 45 minutes for each section of the assessment. Enrollment in testing sessions will be limited to 20 students.
Parents must register their student in advance for the specialty center assessment.
If you have questions, please contact Stephanie Lambrecht at slambrecht@henrico.k12.va.us.

Parental/Guardian Guidelines
Parents will drop off and sign in their children 15-20 minutes before the designated testing session. Testing will be held in the Multipurpose Room in the Eastern Government Building.
During assessment sessions, parents may have the option of remaining in the breakroom or leaving and returning to pick up their child at the end of the testing session.
To provide testing accommodations for students during the specialty center assessment test, all parents must submit a copy of the student’s Individualized Education Plan or the 504 Plan. The plan should be forwarded to Stephanie Lambrecht at slambrecht@henrico.k12.va.us two weeks before the assessment date.
