HCPS requires documentary proof of these vaccinations for students entering seventh and 12th grades:

Meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MenACWY): Students must receive at least two doses, the first administered before entering seventh grade and the final administered before entering 12th grade.

Tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis vaccine (Tdap): A booster dose is required for all students entering seventh grade and those entering 12th grade who have not received a dose of this vaccine after age 7.  Students ages 11 or older may be vaccinated.

Henrico County Public Schools strives to be proactive in anticipating school health-care needs. The HCPS Department of School Health Services believes that students thrive in a collaborative, holistic environment. The department communicates regularly with instructors about their students’ needs, and embraces an approach to student health care that is all-inclusive. If students, teachers, staff members or families think someone in the school community needs medical care, please let your school nurse or another member of the School Health Services Department know.
