Henrico, Va., Nov. 1, 2024 – Six Henrico County Public Schools educators have won the 2024 REB Award for Teaching Excellence and will receive grants from $10,000-$15,000 to continue their love of learning and pursue cutting-edge study in their fields.

Mrs. Thomas was awarded $10,300 to take courses in writing instruction and morphology, the structure of words; to visit schools in Vermont with established programs that support and teach students with dyslexia; and to travel in New England to research cross-curricular middle school lessons about watersheds and Native American history.
Good Afternoon Cougar Families,
You are invited to join Mr. Kiser, Mr. Tertocha, and Mrs. Kelly for a once-in-a-lifetime travel experience on an Education First tour to Australia & the Great Barrier Reef in the summer of 2026! This is in part a service trip involving reef regeneration and conservation efforts.
We’re excited to tell you more about the trip we’re planning with EF Tours, our educational travel partner. Please be sure to register for this info session to be considered for this opportunity at: https://rsvp.eftours.com/49s7awg
You can follow this link to get to photos and travel vlogs from all of our previous trips with students (Italy & Greece, Japan, South Africa, and Peru pending in 2025).
When students travel, they expand their knowledge of the world around them, discover more about themselves, and grow more confident. These skills are critical for creating the global citizens of tomorrow, and we would love to have your student join us on this adventure.
In this info session, we’ll talk about:
• How this opportunity will benefit your student
• What we’ll see and do on our trip
• Everything that’s included in this experience
• How your child can earn academic credit
• How we’re keeping this safe and affordable
• How to enroll on this trip (before it fills up!) during EF’s risk-free enrollment period
There are limited spots on this trip, so we would love to have you attend this meeting to learn more about this exciting opportunity!
*Please note this is a non-school sponsored trip.
