Evidence 2020 – 2021
The basis of our HCPS Numeracy Plan is rooted in the Math Workshop Model. This approach ensures the rigor of the SOL is kept at the forefront of the whole group lesson each day, but the ability to level up or level down based on specific skills remains in the hands of the teacher during the small group portion of the lesson.
Divisional professional learning has taken place during the school year for teachers, coaches, and administrators to ensure there is fidelity with implementation through unpacking of Look Fors and aligned curriculum evidence training.
Development of the numeracy plan will begin when the VDOE releases the new SOLs sometime in 2023.
