Sunday Greetings!
Last week was truly remarkable! Our Rubik’s Cube team shattered their personal record by three minutes in the countywide competition. Picture Day ran smoothly, and our students looked incredible. Our Kula Head of House organized and led a beautiful breakfast for their housemates, fostering an even stronger sense of community. In the classroom, students were fully engaged in high-level instructional practices. We also achieved an exciting milestone—our best attendance week yet, with fewer than 50 tardies for the first time since September! Additionally, we wrapped up our first-ever Jump Rope for Heart event, leaving our students energized and inspired. Lastly, we put out a call for parent volunteers to support our morning arrival process, and we’re thrilled that nearly 10 parents have already stepped up for the fourth marking period. There’s still time to join!
As we head into the final week of the third marking period, we encourage families to continue monitoring their student’s academic progress on PowerSchool. We also want to remind you that registration for our summer enrichment program at Greenwood Elementary opens on Monday. We anticipate spots filling quickly, as this opportunity is available to all Henrico County Public Schools families. Additionally, the Henrico Education Foundation’s Summer Learning and Discovery Program is filling up fast, so please reach out directly to Ashley Reed at areed@henricogives.org if you’re interested.
This week, let's finish strong by shining our light in every way possible! Students, keep showing kindness, perseverance, and focus in your learning. Staff, thank you for your unwavering dedication—your efforts continue to create an engaging and supportive environment for our students. Parents, your partnership makes all the difference, whether it's supporting learning at home, volunteering, or simply offering encouragement. Let’s come together to make this final week of the marking period a celebration of hard work, growth, and positivity!
Shine Your Light!
