Sunday Greetings!
I can't believe we are just two weeks away from the end of the third marking period. Time is flying, and please know that time is something we deeply value at Greenwood. We cherish every moment we get with your Gator each day. When they are absent, we notice, and we miss them. That’s why you’ll never see us counting down to spring break or summer—we are fully present in the moments we share, making memories that will last a lifetime.
This week also carries personal significance for me, as March 13, 2020, changed the world when schools closed due to COVID. I vividly remember meeting with our staff virtually, seeing the emotion and tears from our incredible team because of how much they love their students. I’ll never forget telling them—and even making a video to share with our community—that we had no regrets about how we used our time with your Gators.
No other school in the country does more between 7:15 and 8:00 AM. No other elementary school offers as many extracurricular opportunities for students. No other school has a team as unified in mission, vision, and relentless action to create an unforgettable school experience.
As we move forward, let’s continue to embrace every moment, lift each other up, and celebrate the journey we are on together. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to be a part of this incredible community.

Arrival Change
To ensure the safety of our students, we will be blocking off the parking lot near the main office at 7:15 AM due to the increasing number of cars dropping off children and allowing them to walk across the parking lot unaccompanied. If you need to park and enter the building between 7:15 AM and 7:45 AM, please use the parking area near Gator Gardens. The main office parking lot will reopen at 7:45 AM for parents and visitors throughout the day. Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to student safety.
Summer Enrichment at Greenwood
Greenwood will host a STEAM-based Summer Enrichment program this year, offering two sessions from June 9 – July 17. This half-day program (7:30 AM – 12:30 PM) is open to all HCPS families and is expected to fill quickly. Key dates to remember: On March 10, HCPS will release program details on its website, and registration opens on March 17 through the HCPS website—Greenwood does not provide a separate registration link. If you're interested, we strongly encourage you to register immediately on March 17, as courses typically fill up on the first day. Set a reminder to secure your spot!
