We are excited to share our 4th marking period morning clubs! The sign up will be released on Thursday, March 28 at 6 PM.

Monday 

6th Grade Magic with Mrs. Melton 
6th Grade Magic is a heartwarming initiative where cherished alumni return to Greenwood Elementary School, infusing classrooms and morning clubs with inspiration and mentorship. These dedicated individuals not only uplift our students but also collaborate with our teachers, creating a powerful synergy that leaves an indelible mark on our school community. Through engaging tales of their own successes, they empower our 5th grade seniors, ensuring a legacy of positivity and impact in the halls of Greenwood. 

Advanced Drumline: 3rd – 5th Grade with Glen Allen High School Pep Band
Our ADL is back and ready to create the most engaging school environment in Virginia. Students will perform both on and off campus at special events! Drum experience is required as this is an elite team that will utilize marching band equipment. Selected students would be charged to participate in this elite enrichment opportunity.

Cheerleading: 3rd - 5th Grade with Mrs. Jacobs and Mrs. Green
Spread school spirit with pride! Join our coached team of enthusiastic students, led by VCU and Virginia Tech cheerleading alumni, to bring energy and excitement to pep rallies and hallways.

Coloring Club: Kindergarten - 1st Grade with Ms. Cox
Sharpen your pencils, gather your crayons and get coloring! Spend the morning coloring inside the lines…or outside the lines…in our creative coloring club! 

LEGO Club: Kindergarten - 5th Grade
Build and present innovative LEGO creations while honing problem-solving and presenting skills through weekly challenges.

The Morning Show: 4th-5th Grade with Mrs. Trentham 
Good Morning Gators! Our news team is hoping to find ambitious anchors and creative cameramen. Whether you prefer to be in front of the camera or behind the scenes we need you! Join Mrs. T on our Morning Show to bring our Gators the best morning news and announcements! 

Yoga: Kindergarten-1st Grade with Mrs. Melton
Come join the Monday Morning Zen with Mrs. Melton! Students will get their day started by channeling their inner peace and practicing their restorative poses. Practice balance, calmness, and more to kickstart your week. 

Tuesday

Basketball: 4th-5th Grade with Mr. Dylan and Mr. Charity 
Dribble, pass, shoot it’s time to play some hoops. Join our very own basketball legends Mr. Dylan and Mr. Charity as they coach you through a variety of drills, pointers, and games! Bring your A game to the court; it's time to ball out! 

Bucket Drumline: 3rd - 5th Grade with Mr. Stein and Middle School Alumni 
Set the tone and make some noise with "G-Wood"! Join our drumline to parade down hallways, perform at pep rallies, assemblies, and even off-campus events. 

Gamers: 4th-5th Grade with Mr. Anderson and Mr. Miles
Enter the game grid to embark on epic adventures in Super Smash Brothers and Mario Kart. This club fosters friendly competition, teamwork, and strategic thinking, providing a thrilling start to the morning as students engage in exciting battles and races with these Nintendo Switch games.

Golf: 3rd - 5th Graders with Mrs. Jacobs
Swing into action with our Golf Club, where budding young players learn the fundamentals of the game while enjoying the fresh air and camaraderie of the Greenwood grasslands. From perfecting your putt to mastering your drive, join us for a hole-in-one experience on the green!

Jump Rope: 2nd-5th Grade with Mrs. K. Walker
Jump around and perfect those skills in our Jump Rope Club! Double dutch, criss cross, alternate and more, students will learn and practice new tricks while perfecting the art of jump rope! 

Minecraft: 1st-2nd Grade with Mrs. Trentham
Grab Steve and look out for the Creepers as we explore the depths of the Minecraft world! Students will create worlds, perform tasks, and enhance their gaming skills. Remember to bring a fully charged computer! 

Sudoku Club: 3rd - 5th Grade with Mrs. C. Walker
Welcome to our Sudoku Club, where young minds gather to conquer puzzles and sharpen their logical thinking skills! Join us for a fun-filled journey of numbers and strategy as we tackle Sudoku grids together.

Tubano Club: 3rd-5th Grade with Ms. Eberhard & Mrs. Murphy
Get ready to practice your beat and rhythm in our Tubano Club! Students will learn a variety of beats and tunes while performing to gators as they walk to class Tuesday mornings! 

Wednesday 

Cricut Club: 3rd- 5th with Mrs. Coward, Mrs. Farmer, and Mrs. Hobbs
Help us design and create house related signs to help share the house love with our classroom teachers!

Dance Team:  1st – 5th Grade with Eleanor Robertson, Nurse C, Ms. Elkins,  and Mr. Stein
The Greenwood Dance Team is famous for their monthly performances at PTA meetings, pep rallies, and sporting competitions. Our dance instructor, Eleanor Robertson from Rigby’s Jig Ballroom Dance Studio, leads our team with passion and enthusiasm unknown to mankind! Get ready to boogie on down! 

Flag Football: 4th-5th Grade with Mr. Woodson, Mr. Gilliam, Mr. Boykin, and Mr. Dylan
Step onto the field and tackle the excitement in Flag Football, where you'll experience the thrill of the game and compete with your teammates.

Flag Twirlers: 3rd - 5th Grade with Mrs. Ross 
Join the Flag Twirlers Club and master the art of handling our six dazzling new Greenwood parade flags! Get ready to showcase your skills at pep rallies and lead spirited processions through our school's hallways. Together, we'll ignite a sense of unity and pride, infusing Greenwood with a vibrant display of school spirit!

GoNoodle Club: Kindergarten-1st Grade with Mrs. Melton
Hey GoNoodlers!!! It's time to wiggle and dance with all your GoNoodle Friends! Come wiggle along with Mrs. Melton in a variety of dances, chants, games, and more! 

HouseSTEAM: 1st-3rd Grade with Mrs. Trentham 
We are 5 Houses, We are 1 Family! Let's take our House Pride to the next level in weekly STEAM Challenges that are centered around each House. Students will dive into the fables and facts behind the Houses and design, collaborate, and build based on that week's challenge! 

Tower Gardens: 3rd - 4th Grade with Mrs. Cox
Plant, water, grow! Bring your green thumb to our Tower Garden Club to help plant, water, maintain, and enjoy a variety of plants and vegetables. Students will take pride in their plant power as they see these tower gardens each and every day in our hallways! 

Thursday 

Advanced Dance: 3rd – 5th Grade with tryout with Eleanor Robertson
In the 2022-2023 School Year, we will launch an ‘Elite Dance Team’ program at Greenwood Elementary, which will focus on higher level dance choreography and concepts for students who wish to take their dancing to the next level. This will be a small group with individual lesson from Eleanor Robertson from Rigby’s Jig Ballroom Dance Studio. Selected students would be charged to participate in this elite enrichment opportunity.

Futsal: 4th-5th Grade with Mr. Graham and Mr. Dylan 
Get ready to dribble, pass, and score in our Elementary School Futsal Club! This fast-paced, indoor soccer variant is perfect for honing agility, teamwork, and precision on the pitch. Led by experienced coaches, students will develop their skills, build camaraderie, and most importantly, have a blast on the futsal court. Join us for an exciting journey through the world of soccer!

Card Club: 1st-3rd Grade with Mrs. Ross
Uno, I Declare War, Go Fish, Slap, and More!  Come join the Card Club! Have fun with friends as we sharpen our strategic planning skills by playing cards!!! We hope to see you there!

Canva Club: 3rd-5th Grade with Mrs. Trentham 
Cue the creativity in our Canva Club! Learn the different tools, features, and tricks in Canva while we create posters that promote upcoming school events! 

Color Run: Kindergarten-5th Grade with Mrs. Jacobs
For those who love running, this club prepares students for a Color Run on Tuesday May 21st at 5:00 PM at the Shady Grove YMCA. This is an energetic way to start the day on the Greenwood track.

Yearbook: Fifth Grade with Mrs. Fox and Ms. Cox
Student Editors learn about photography, design layout, publishing, advertising, editing, and everything else it takes to produce the yearbook. The yearbook club comes up with ideas and themes all while learning and completing production of the book

Friday 

Head of House: Select 4th & 5th Grade with Head of House Teacher Leaders
Select group of students will meet to create pep rallies, community service projects,  spirit day marketing materials, morning announcements, and etc.
