Friday, November 3- Classroom Award Ceremony
Each teacher will host an exclusive Classroom Award Ceremony recognizing students that earned A’s, A&B Honor Roll and Perfect Attendance! These students will be earning house points for each award! Congratulations! 

Friday, November 3 - Basketball Tournament
Our Greenwood House Basketball Tournament will be held from 4 - 5:45 PM at RockIt Sports. Students participating should wear their house shirts! Following our House Tournament, a select group of 4th and 5th graders will compete against 8 other schools from 6 - 8 PM at RockIt Sports. These student athletes should wear their teal t-shirt. Huge thanks to our cheerleaders for attending and cheering on our gators!

Students that are in Advanced Dance, Advanced Drumline, Step Team, Fearless, and Cheerleading do not need to sign up again. Our 2nd quarter clubs begin November 14.

Parent Advisory Committee
The next P.A.C meeting is Thursday, November 9, from 7:20 - 7:50 a.m. in the library. All new (and returning) families are encouraged to come out and meet the P.A.C. They are ready to answer your questions, share helpful tips on managing the balance in your student’s schedule, tell you about all the many happenings at Greenwood you don’t want to miss, share the many ways you can support our school, and more!

Mental Health Matters: Family and Caregiver Workshop Series
The next session is November 8th, and will welcome Full Circle Grief.  This session will be held in person at the North Park Branch Library from 6- 7:00pm, with a live streaming option, as well. Taji Community Service Project- Friday, November 17th 6:30 - 7:30 PM
House Taji will be decorating the cafeteria for our Friendsgiving event on Monday, Nov. 21st, and we will also be organizing and putting some holiday food bags together for our school community! Canned Food Drive: November 6 - 17
Greenwood Elementary is partnering with Hunton Baptist Church and Henrico Christmas Mother to hold our annual canned food drive. Items will be collected from November 6th - November 17th. Donations will be going to serve families in need this holiday season. The items below are highly needed: 

Hearty Soups

Boxed Pasta

Canned Pasta Sauce

Jiffy Cornbread Mix

Garbanzo Beans/Chickpeas

Boxed Mac n’ Cheese

Tomato Paste

Gifted Referral Window
The gifted referral window will be open from Wednesday, November 1, through Friday, November 17, at 4PM. During this time, students may be referred to the gifted identification process by an educator, parent/guardian, community member, peer, or self. By submitting a referral, you are requesting your child be evaluated to determine eligibility for gifted services. To begin a referral, use the Gifted Referral Collection Form to communicate your referral to school staff. Gifted referrals will not be accepted after 4PM on Friday, November 17.
