Happy weekend! Our students are doing great things with excellence, perseverance, integrity, and compassion!
Weapons Detectors: We continue to work to make the weapon detector process smoother every day! Students should remember to take their laptops, metal water bottles, eyeglass cases, and large binders out of their bags. On Monday, all students were in the door by 9:13. On Tuesday, all students were in the door by 9:11. On Wednesday, all students were in the door by 8:58. On Thursday all students were in the door by 9:00. Today was a little bit later, 9:12, but we will continue to find ways to get student through the process and to class on time.
Laptops: We will distribute laptops before school and through common study next week. Students need to have the Code of Conduct and the Device Acknowledgement form signed in order to be issued a laptop. In addition, students will need to have also turned in their laptop and charger from last year. In addition, students should have returned their laptop and assigned charger. If a student did not turn in their charger last year, there will be a $25 replacement fee owed.

PSAT Testing: We will administer the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test Wednesday, October 11th to all 9th & 10th graders (free – no registration required), as well as 11th graders who register via fee payment by the August 30th deadline. The deadline to apply for accommodations from College Board for the PSAT is August 28 so be sure to contact your student’s case manager right away if you believe they qualify for accommodations on the PSAT & have not already been approved by College Board. Fall Play: ATTENTION ACTORS!! Auditions for the Fall Play, Pride and Prejudice will take place on Wednesday September 6th in room 11. We plan to complete auditions in one day. However, prepare for the possibility of callbacks on September 7th. Please prepare a Dramatic Monologue of your choice. The play takes place in England so you are welcome to attempt a British accent for your monologue but that is not a requirement. Audition packets will be made available on Monday August 28th in room 11.
Freshmen Class SCA Election: Attention all FRESHMEN: If you are interested in running for Freshman Class Council, please plan on picking up an application (called a petition) between Monday, August 28th through Wednesday, September 6th from Mrs. Martino in Room 63. All applications/petitions are due Thursday, September 7th at a mandatory meeting at 8:40 in Mrs. Martino’s room (Room 63). Freshman Class Council is a group of five students elected by the freshman class to represent the Class of 2027 and will help with the Homecoming Parade, Variety Show and other things throughout the year. Feel free to ask Mrs. Martino (Room 63) or Mr. Ungerleider (Room 36) any questions!
Class of 2024 Information:
- Senior Cap and Gown Information: Click HERE if you have not already provided your cap and gown information. All orders need to be placed by August 25, 2023. We will distribute gowns in the fall before senior convocation and caps and tassels in the spring before graduation.
- Class of 2024 Convocation: Convocation will take place October 11, 2023 at Godwin High School. Please plan to come and see our class of 2024 for the first time in their graduation attire.
- Graduation Attire for Class of 2024: Graduates will wear one of the following options whenever gowns are worn:
- White or Black Dress, Black Dress Shoes
- Black Dress Pants, Button Down White Shirt, Tie, Black Socks, Black Dress Shoes
- Black Dress Pants, White Blouse, Black Dress Shoes
- Black Skirt, White Blouse, Black Dress Shoes
- Jeans, khakis, sneakers, flip-flops, & floppy sandals are not permitted. Shoes must be black.

Godwin Athletic Association: Welcome to a new year of school and a new year of Godwin Athletics! Just wanted to take a moment to share some important items with you.
- MEMBERSHIP: Membership for the 2023-2024 school year is now open. Let's continue to come together and support our student athletes. We raise money to benefit athletes and the facilities on which they practice and play. Our goals are to promote positive community relations with parents, administration, students, alumni and the greater Godwin community to make sure our athletic programs are the best they can be.
