Hello Godwin families!

School begins on Monday, August 21st!  We are excited to welcome our students!

  • Here are the online portals for you to take care of important back to school business:
    • PowerSchool Parent Portal:  Student schedules and bus information are available on PowerSchool.
    • Families are able to fill out mandatory school forms through Ecollect Forms which is accessible through the PowerSchool Parent Portal
      • Ecollect Forms is available in the parent portal by selecting the Forms button, located on the left of the PowerSchool Parent Portal main page once logged into the system.
      • Ecollect Forms is also available in the PowerSchool smart phone application.  The school division's assigned code is MXZM
      • Completing forms is mandatory in order for students to receive laptops and for other purposes for school business.
    • MySchoolBucks: online portal for depositing lunch money
    • Online School Payments:  online portal to pay school fees.
  • Student and Family Handbook:  Here is the Godwin student and family handbook. This document contains important information for back-to-school but also for the entire year!

  • Weapon Scanning:  As announced last spring, Henrico County Public Schools will phase in the use of weapons scanners at all schools this year. Scanners will be in place at Godwin on the first day of school.
    •  Watch this short video for an update on what to expect when your child arrives at school.
    • As we saw in last year’s field test, scanners are much easier to use than traditional metal detectors while providing an essential layer of security.  Each morning at Godwin, there will be two scanner stations in the commons, one station on the bus ramp, and one station for visitors coming into the building through the front door of the school.  After morning arrival, we will use the scanner at the front door for all students and all visitors who enter the building throughout the day.
    • There will be a team of staff members who will guide the students through the scanner process each day.  Students will move quickly through the weapon scanners.  If for any reason the scanner alerts, the administrator at the station will handle the next steps of the process.
    • Impact on morning arrival should be minimal once students get into the habit of removing their laptops and other larger metal items from their backpacks before moving through the scanners.  Students can wear their backpacks as they move through the scanners without having to remove their cell phones or keys, which should not alert the scanners.
    • We appreciate your patience and support as we implement the weapon scanners process at Godwin.
  • Class of 2024 Information:

  • Godwin Athletic Association:  Welcome to a new year of school and a new year of Godwin Athletics! Just wanted to take a moment to share some important items with you.
    • MEMBERSHIP:  Membership for the 2023-2024 school year is now open.  Let's continue to come together and support our student athletes.  We raise money to benefit athletes and the facilities on which they practice and play.  Our goals are to promote positive community relations with parents, administration, students, alumni and the greater Godwin community to make sure our athletic programs are the best they can be.  By joining the Godwin Athletic Association you are supporting ALL our athletes and coaches, whether it be Fall, Winter or Spring sports. You can click here to join online.
    • PUNCH CARDS:  We are excited to announce our partnership with GoFAN!! Moving forward ALL Godwin Athletic Membership passes and punch cards will be digital and will have to be purchased via GoFAN!!!  No more keeping track of cards.  Just click on the link below to purchase your membership, download the app and you are ready to go.
    • FUNDING:  Tax dollars that eventually end up in the Athletic Department's annual budget comprise of a very small portion of the department's needs.  The funds are used to cover transportation costs and coaching stipends.  All of the operation expenses and equipment purchases are self-funded by the athletic department.  These funds are a drop in the bucket to the needs of ALL sports, therefore an Athletic Association is needed to offset some of these costs.  This is where we come in...The GAA is committed to giving at least $60,000 to Godwin Athletics during the 2023-2024 school year.  We will ensure that EVERY team sees benefit at least every two years.  Click here to see the GAA funding to Godwin Athletics over the years.
