HCPS may implement remote learning, which may use asynchronous or synchronous instruction if we experience further school closures this year.

Elementary students brought their learning devices (PreK/KG = ipads, 1st - 5th grade = Chromebooks) and power cords on Friday, Jan. 24. They will continue to bring their devices and power cords to and from school daily until further notice.

Because our Cubs are already spending time on computers during the instructional day, there is no need for them to use this device at home at this time. We encourage our students to read, complete assigned HW tasks, and review taught materials/study guides as normal. Teachers will not be assigning tasks on the devices except during remote learning in which you will be notified by HCPS during a closure.

Daily Student Expectations:

  • Charge the device every night to ensure it is ready for use the next day. We recommend establishing a routine where students charge their device as soon as they get home and then place it back in their backpack with their charger.

  • Ensure the device and charger come back to school every day.

  • Take good care of the device. Make sure it is safely stored in your child's backpack and away from liquids. Please do not leave your computer on the ground, as it could be easily stepped on.

  • Your child should be the only one logging in and using this device when directed to do so

  • Upon arriving at school, students will remove their device and place it on the table prior to entering through the weapons scanners.
