YAY STACEY RICHMOND! Stacey Richmond, an instructional assistant at Three Chopt Elementary School, is today’s “Yay of the Day” honoree. Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored her recently at the school.

YAYWORTHY: Nominator Riian Brock said: “She is all things Three Chopt. She is committed to our staff and students, comes to work every day and gives 100% to her class and to all of the students at Three Chopt. She knows all of their names and shows them each love and respect. Stacey is always willing to help and supports anyone and anything that is needed.

“Stacey came on board three years ago from a profession in the medical field. Her willingness to support our students and their daily needs is relentless. She has a hard job, yet she makes it look easy.

“We began the year with some scheduling challenges and new staff members who required mentoring and modeling on properly supporting some of our most fragile Three Chopt Cougars. One of the new staff members had been assigned a new task and when asked, she said she was very comfortable in her new role because she had ‘Miss Stacey’ as a model and was learning from her.

“It’s the little things she does daily here at Three Chopt that lead me to nominate her. Recently during an assembly a teacher walked in and didn’t have a chair. Stacey stood, carried her chair to the teacher and offered it to her. I am proud to have Stacey on our team and we truly don’t know what we would do without her. She gives us a laugh when we all need one, a hug when we are down, and is a giver when we have nothing left to give. She certainly has my ‘Yay’ every day!”

Thank you for all you do, Stacey Richmond, to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
