YAY “COOKIE” DAVENPORT! Madeline “Cookie” Davenport, an instructional assistant at Jacob Adams Elementary School, is today’s “Yay of the Day” honoree. Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored her recently at the school.

YAYWORTHY: Nominator Tiffany Farmer said: “Without ‘Ms. Cookie,’ there would be no Adams Elementary School. Ms. Davenport is one of the first people here every day: ready to greet, support and pitch in wherever needed.

“As for examples, there are just simply too many to name. Ms. Cookie has even gone to surrounding schools to help support their office staffs. Ms Cookie makes a positive impact every single day. Students come to the office looking for her. When they are having a bad day sometimes all they need is a hug from Ms. Cookie to make it all better. We have even joked about dedicating an area in our newly remodeled school to Ms. Cookie.

“With more than 35 years with HCPS, Ms. Cookie is truly a gift to the entire Adams community.”

Thank you for all you do, Cookie Davenport to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
