The Department of Student Support and Wellness utilizes a multi-tiered system of supports framework to support all students to achieve academic, social-emotional and behavioral success as well as college and career readiness. Staff within the department support the following:

School-Based Mental Health services

Social Emotional Learning, Trauma-Informed Practices, Extended Learning Opportunities, Behavioral Support and Intervention, and Section 504. 


To provide an equitable system of care to meet the needs of students on their journey to be life-ready.


Each student is included, valued, and supported and has the tools, resources, and strategies to be successful.

Parents and staff should reach out to the school-based mental health staff at your school for specific resources related to your requests. 

If you or your child are experiencing an emergency or crisis, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room for immediate assistance.

For additional mental health services, Henrico Area Mental Health may be accessed at the following numbers: 804-727-8515 (same day access) or 804-727-8484 (emergency). 

To report suspected child abuse or neglect, please contact Child Protective Services at (804) 501-5437  (Mon.-Fri., 8-4 pm) or the VA Child Abuse & Neglect Hotline outside of business hours at 1-800-552-7096.
