Marcie Shea was elected in November 2019 to represent the Tuckahoe District on the Henrico School Board. Mrs. Shea is both a parent and former teacher in the Tuckahoe District. She taught college prep, honors and Advanced Placement physics at Douglas Freeman High School.
Mrs. Shea earned a physics degree from Samford University as well as a Master of Education in curriculum and instruction from Virginia Tech.
As a classroom teacher, she was recognized by Henrico County for cultivating critical thinking with her students and was a fellow in the national Discovery Education STEM program.
After stepping away from the full-time high school classroom, Mrs. Shea has continued to invest in Henrico schools through instructional coaching, working one-on-one with high school students, as well as serving on the PTA and various Henrico Schools committees.
She is married to husband Mason Shea. They have two children who attend Henrico County Public Schools.
