IB students from Henrico attend universities all over the world often with scholarships and advanced college credits.

 Henrico is home to world-class, specially-trained, IB educators who are passionate about our students' success. 

• We are an internationally recognized IB program with three different IB Program pathways to fit all students. Our Middle Years Program — for ninth and 10th grade students — prepares them to pursue the IB Diploma or Career Certificate in 11th and 12th grade.

• We are the first school in Henrico County to offer both the IB Career Program to all students in 11th and 12th grade. With a Career Certificate success rate above the world average, we are prepared to provide both College and Career preparation through multiple programs.

• Our Mock Trial Team represented Henrico County and Virginia at the National High School Mock Trial Competition and

  won the state competition in 2021 — and was one point away from winning in 2022! In 2023 our team won the state AND NATIONAL Competition!

• Our sports programs are highly competitive, with most including IB students playing integral roles. Many sports compete at the regional level, including soccer, field hockey, golf, basketball, gymnastics, track

  and golf.

• Our Model U.N. team has attended VAMUN at the University of Virginia and the North

  American Invitational Model U.N. Conference, hosted by Georgetown University. IB Model U.N.

  team members regularly organize, participate and achieve awards in conferences at county and state levels.

• Students get the added benefit of the amazing Henrico Center for the Arts visual arts and theater programs. These programs are recognized at the division, state and national levels.

• IB grads are successful doctors, veterinarians, bank executives, filmmakers, journalists, computer engineers

  , lawyers, pharmacists, teachers, business executives and artists.

• Our teachers are leaders in education. They are examiners, workshop leaders and curriculum-writers for the International

  Baccalaureate Organization.

• Henrico H.S. IB is home to numerous National Board-certified teachers, with more added regularly. National Board certification is the highest certification in the United States that teachers can earn.

  We have teachers who are Board-certified in English, history, math and library science.
