Henrico, Va. Oct. 1, 2018 – Deep Run High School was named one of 349 National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2018 by the U.S. Department of Education, in an announcement made today. Deep Run was honored as among Virginia’s highest performing schools as measured by state assessments or nationally normed tests. The award, now in its 36th year, also honors schools that have closed significant achievement gaps.

“It’s a tremendous honor that wouldn’t be possible without the efforts of our students, their families, our teachers, staff and the entire Wildcat community,” said Lenny Pritchard, Deep Run principal. “Amazing things can happen when communities come together to do what’s best for students, and Deep Run is very grateful to be recognized on the national stage.”

The schools will be honored Nov. 7-8 at a ceremony in Washington.
