Henrico Education Foundation’s Bill Bosher Fund gets major boost, poised to help even more HCPS students

The endowment fund designed to continue the educational legacy of William C. Bosher Jr. has gotten a major boost. Dr. Baxter Perkinson Jr., a well-known Richmond dentist and founder of Virginia Family Dentistry, has announced a matching grant to the fund of up to $25,000. If donors meet the entirety of the matching offer, the fund’s endowment will grow by $50,000. Donors have answered Perkinson’s challenge with $20,000 in donations so far. Another $5,000 is still needed to meet the matching gift challenge. To help meet the goal, visit the Henrico Education Foundation’s website, henricogives.org, or call 804-652-3869.

The foundation has seen a lot of growth in the past four years, and is adding a staff member to oversee one if its key initiatives. Darryl Williams will manage the foundation’s Community Learning Center initiative, which integrates academics, youth development, family support, health and social services, and community development at challenged schools. To find out how you can help, go to henricogives.org.
