Please check your inbox for a Tuesday email with links to resources that may be helpful as your family processes this traumatic event. School counselors and other school-based mental health professionals are also available to speak with students as needed.

Around 85 families joined Tuesday's important “Community Conversations: Families and Schools as Partners in Safety” session. The Bridge Builders Academy discussion included panelists, HCPS staff, parents and members of the community. It included discussion on gun-violence prevention, support for mental health, and opportunities for families and schools to partner in addressing issues within our own community.

School Board Corner: Finish strong
|
A message from the Henrico School Board: As we wrap up the third quarter, we want to congratulate our students, teachers and staff for their successes this marking period. We continue to see growth, big and small, in classrooms across the division as students connect what they are learning and the “real world” by applying knowledge and skills in personally meaningful and relevant ways. A recent mural project at Highland Springs High School is a good example.
We hope our students and employees will have time to relax and recharge before returning for a strong finish to the school year. It is not too late for students to learn new skills and strategies or master course content. We encourage students to engage fully in their learning experiences, ask questions, carefully consider feedback teachers are providing and continue to build upon their foundational learning from throughout the year.
We are in the home stretch. End-of-year celebrations and graduations are just around the corner. Let’s not lose focus now; the best is still to come. Finish strong, HCPS!
