Yay of the Day awardee, Amy Roessner of Highland Springs Elementary School, receiving her swag bag.

YAY AMY ROESSNER! Amy Roessner, school nurse at Highland Springs Elementary School, is today’s “Yay of the Day” honoree. Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored her recently at the school.

YAYWORTHY: Nominator Tiffany Stanley said: “Nurse Roessner is more than just a school nurse. She goes above and beyond to care for the kids as well as the students! She keeps a full stock of anything the kids might need in the clinic. She is always there to listen or provide a laugh to help through the day. She is a wonder in the school and a well-loved nurse.

“Once a child didn’t have any snacks and had a medical condition where snacks are necessary. She used her own money to buy snacks for the student to get through the day.”

Margaret Olander said: “Mrs. Roessner is our school nurse and works so hard all day to provide the best care to our students. She spends each day making sure that students’ needs are met while also dealing with COVID-19 protocols and getting to know our kids. She is so sweet with our students and handles all issues with grace. Our staff is lucky to have her!”

Thank you for all you do, Amy Roessner, to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
