YAY LAURA FULTZ! Dr. Laura Fultz, an occupational therapist at Nuckols Farm and David Kaechele elementary schools, is today’s “Yay of the Day” honoree. Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored her recently.
YAYWORTHY: Nominator Katie Saks said: “Laura is the occupational therapy and physical therapy department chair and works hard to help everyone keep things running smoothly. She is always available to answer questions and provide support. Laura keeps our department running smoothly. She is also a very knowledgeable and wonderful physical therapist.
“She is creative and fun, which can be seen during her physical therapy sessions with students. Laura is always finding ways to support occupational therapists and physical therapists and the students she works with. At one school she helped find a way to redo a bathroom close to a student’s classroom so that it could accommodate a wheelchair. She also plans our monthly staff meetings to include agenda items that can contribute positively to our school-based knowledge of occupational therapy and physical therapy. This includes discussing sensory vs. behavior within the classroom and the role of occupational therapists. I’m not sure how she has time in her day to do all that she does.”
Holly Charest said: “Her support for our department is amazing and she provides multiple avenues to solve a problem.”
Thank you for all you do, Laura Fultz, to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
