Yay of the Day awardee, David Clough of Holladay Elementary School, receiving his swag bag.

YAY DAVID CLOUGH! David Clough, an innovative learning coach at Elizabeth Holladay Elementary School, is today’s “Yay of the Day” honoree. Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored him recently at the school.

YAYWORTHY: Nominator Maria Carter said: “He is always willing to step in and assist in any way needed. He does more than his job as an innovative learning coach. He entertains, acts as DJ at school events, runs the morning announcements with the fifth graders, loads pictures from classes onto the announcements and the website, interprets for Spanish-speaking parents, changes flat tires, teaches P.E. and fills in as a sub when needed. He does all of this with a smile on his face and a fabulous attitude.

“Once he offered to stay after school until 6 p.m. with me so that he could work as a parent-teacher conference interpreter. It wasn’t parent-teacher conference day but I needed to talk to four families that evening. He called them, got them connected to the Teams link and then interpreted for me. He is a selfless and kind educator.”

Thank you for all you do, David Clough, to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
