YAY RITA ROBERSON! Rita Roberson, a fifth grade teacher at Sandston Elementary School, is today’s “Yay of the Day” honoree. Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored her recently at the school.
YAYWORTHY: Nominator Sumer Gilmore said: “She has made my son love school again. We homeschooled last year and he didn’t want to go back to school. All of his fears and worries are gone now. My son told me that she is the first teacher he’s ever felt a connection with.”
Michelle Bush-Wood said: “She cares about the students at her school — not only in her class, but all of the children. One example that stands out was when a student was crying and she comforted her. It made her feel good about herself. The student looks forward to going to school just to see her.”
Thank you for all you do, Rita Roberson, to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
