Yay of the Day awardee, Sean Wollenberg of Longan Elementary School, receiving her swag bag.

YAY SEAN WOLLENBERG! Sean Wollenberg, an instructional assistant at R.C. Longan Elementary School, is today’s “Yay of the Day” honoree. Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored her recently at the school.

YAYWORTHY: Nominator Amy Roberson said: “Sean always goes above and beyond in her role as instructional assistant in my collaborative classroom. She’s an exceptional role model and has developed a positive rapport with each student. She takes the class outside for picnic lunches on good weather days, and takes the initiative in assisting with small groups and intervention.

“One example of how she makes a difference: her compassion toward a student who was having a rough day. She pulled the student aside to listen, provide support and help them refocus for learning. The students love her and light up when she comes into our classroom. Sean is fully invested in the academic and emotional growth of our students. She deserves to be recognized!”

Thank you for all you do, Sean Wollenberg, to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
