Yay of the Day awardee, Rachel LeClair of Colonial Trail Elementary School, receiving her swag bag.

YAY RACHEL LECLAIR! Rachel LeClair, a librarian at Colonial Trail Elementary School, is today’s “Yay of the Day” honoree. Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored her recently at the school.

YAYWORTHY: Nominator Karlie Abrams said: “She is awesome at helping kids discover books they will love. Both my reluctant readers have come home with books that they LOVED reading. The best part is that both books were part of a series, so we’ve had ongoing success with reading at home after these new book discoveries. It was the first time I didn’t have to nag my second grader about reading, and it was the first time my third grader wanted to read silently at home on her own!”

Shea Edwards said: “She goes above and beyond to make sure my daughter gets to the car for pickup every day, and goes the extra mile by helping buckle her in. I remember one day when it was cold and windy, and she held my daughter’s hand and ran with her to the car.

“She’s always genuinely friendly and is smiling behind the mask.”

Thank you for all you do, Rachel LeClair, to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
