Yay of the Day awardee, Carrie Gouldman of Trevvett Elementary School, receiving her swag bag.

YAY CARRIE GOULDMAN! Carrie Gouldman, a kindergarten teacher at Maude Trevvett Elementary School, is today’s “Yay of the Day” honoree. Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored her recently at the school.

YAYWORTHY: Nominator Tina Kaine said: “Mrs. Gouldman takes every challenge in her classroom as an opportunity to show students that they can do and be better. Her kindergarten students came in with little or no formal schooling because of the pandemic and within a few weeks, she created a classroom of calm and loving children who look forward to school and to seeing her each day. She has set high expectations during this year of unknowns and keeps students engaged and excited to learn.”

“She teaches students who have conflicts with each other, or with their own behavior impulses, that there is a better way to act. She models how to treat and love others and her students are not only learning the curriculum but how to be good friends and citizens.”

Thank you for all you do, Carrie Gouldman, to make a positive difference and move HCPS forward!
