Thank you, Henrico! (A message of gratitude from Andy Jenks)

This is my last week with Henrico County Public Schools, and I’m sad and excited at the same time. As you may have seen, I said ‘yes’ to a tremendous new life and career opportunity in Chapel Hill, NC, and after a great deal of emotional processing, my family and I are incredibly eager and ready to begin the next chapter in our lives.
I’m posting here because this is where you and I got to know each other, thanks to the occasional ‘snow day’ and the related internet shenanigans associated with them. That’s definitely the fun part of the job. I’ll miss being the voice on the other end of those robocalls.
Most don’t have a platform like this to share important milestones in their personal and professional situations, which is why I want to make sure anyone who’s made it this far knows how grateful I am to Henrico County and the “RVA” region. I’ve been incredibly proud to represent this school division since 2012. There’s so much to love about HCPS and Henrico, and I’ll miss it while cheering on everyone from afar. You’re in such thoughtful, caring and capable hands.
In closing, my heart is full. Thank you, Henrico, for the honor of being a part of this amazing school division and community.
Sincerely,
Andy
