YAY SAM ROCK! Sam Rock of J.R. Tucker High School is one of today’s “Yay of the Day” honorees. Superintendent Amy Cashwell honored him recently at J.R. Tucker.

YAYWORTHY— Nominator Ryan Lowry said: “He has helped me through so many challenges in life as well as put knowledge from English class to volleyball into my head for four years. An example of a time he made a difference is when he taught me how to play volleyball.”

Brandon Him said: “This teacher cares about his students. He coaches me, is patient and makes sure I can understand this sport!”

Mario Soares said: “His attitude always lightens up the room. An example of how he makes a difference is every time he shows up to coach his volleyball team.”

Owen Hahn said: “He brings joy to me and everyone around him. He encourages me to be a better student and person.”

Josh Budzinski said: “He exercises an incredible amount of patience when coaching new volleyball players. He helps each player individually learn how to approach when hitting a volleyball.”

Zakaria Hussain said: “He is very nice and hardworking. He cheers us up.”

Srimaan Suribhotla said: “He is an amazing volleyball coach and teacher. An example of how he makes a difference is when he helped a student after they got hit in the head by a rock.”
